IFA 2018: smart WIFI-speaker from Blaupunkt / “PVA 100“ with integrated Google Assistant, Chromecast and plug socket for wireless power supply

With the “PVA 100”, Blaupunkt presents a WIFI-speaker at this year’s IFA, which doesn’t only play music, but alleviates your day as your personal assistant. Thanks to the integrated Google Assistant, it manages daily tasks, like calendar entries, shopping lists or reminders, by acclamation, answers questions about the weather or traffic situation for instance and serves as a practical control centre for your home.

In its basic functions as a quadratic plug socket speaker the “PVA 100” offers a well-balanced sound as also especially easy access to your favourite music owning to the built-in Chromecast. With only an “Ok Google” and the corresponding command playlists from providers like Spotify or Deezer can be played via the speaker. In connection with other Chromecast-compatible models of any manufacturer the speaker also functions as an open multiroom system and provides synchronic music in different rooms without any time lag, as multiple speakers can be integrated in a home-network as well as be spoken to as a group or individually. The Voice-Match-Operation from Google Home is especially useful for families or shared flats as the speaker recognises an individual (voice) after a short voice-training and uses its User Account. In this way, individual entries, such as personal bus ride times, appointments or telephone entries can be retrieved, and favourite songs can be played if requested.

 

If one doesn’t wish to use the voice assistant, the integrated microphone can be turned off with the muting button. Controlling the speaker on your mobile device via Chromecast is still possible. On the top of the body housing there are more buttons provided for volume adjustments, Pause/Play, Reset as well as for the Bluetooth connection. Even without a WIFI-connection the speaker doesn’t turn silent at an output power of 2 watts. Selectively, devices can be connected via Bluetooth V4.2. The small box measures 100 x 100 x 85 mm and only weighs 250 grams. It integrates itself into any interior with its sleek white elegance. The speaker is not in need of a base to stand on and due to the plug, which is put into the socket, no bothersome cables are in the way.

 

The smart WIFI-speaker ”PVA 100” from Blaupunkt is visible for the first time from 31st August through 5th September 2018 on the IFA in hall 7.2b, stand 207. End of October a recommended retail price of 139 euros will be placed on the market.

Blaupunkt präsentiert mit dem „PVA 100“ auf der diesjährigen IFA einen WLAN-Lautsprecher, der nicht nur Musik wiedergibt, sondern als persönlicher Assistent den Alltag erleichtert. Dank integriertem Google Assistant verwaltet er durch Sprachsteuerung auf Zuruf tägliche Aufgaben wie Kalendereinträge, Einkaufslisten oder Erinnerungsoptionen, beantwortet Fragen beispielsweise zu Wetter oder Verkehr und fungiert als praktische Steuerzentrale für das vernetzte Heim.

 

In seiner Grundfunktion als quadratischer Steckdosenlautsprecher bietet der „PVA 100“ einen ausgewogenen Klang und dank built-in Chromecast einen besonders einfachen Zugriff auf die Lieblingsmusik. Denn mit einem „Ok Google” und dem entsprechenden Befehl lassen sich Playlists von Anbietern wie Spotify oder Deezer per Sprache abspielen. In Kombination mit anderen Chromecast-fähigen Modellen beliebiger Hersteller fungiert der Lautsprecher dabei auch als offenes Multiroom-System und sorgt für synchrone, verzögerungsfreie Musik in verschiedenen Räumen. Denn es können mehrere Lautsprecher im selben Heimnetzwerk integriert und als Gruppe oder einzeln angesprochen werden. Besonders praktisch für Familien und WGs ist dabei die Voice-Match-Funktion von Google Home. Nach kurzem Sprachtraining der einzelnen Personen erkennt der Speaker, wer ihn anspricht und nutzt automatisch den entsprechenden User Account. So wird auf die jeweiligen individuellen Eingaben zugegriffen – egal ob persönliche Busfahrtzeiten, Termin- und Telefoneinträge abgefragt oder Lieblingstitel wiedergegeben werden sollen.

 

Wer das Gerät nicht über den Sprachassistenten steuern möchte, schaltet per Stummschalt-Taste die integrierten Mikrofone einfach ab. Die Steuerung über das Mobiltelefon via Chromecast ist dennoch möglich. Oberhalb des Gehäuses stehen weitere Buttons zur Lautstärkeregelung, Pause/Play, Reset sowie zur Bluetooth-Verbindung zur Verfügung. Denn auch ohne WLAN bleibt der Lautsprecher mit einer Ausgangsleistung von 2 Watt nicht stumm: Externe Geräte können über Bluetooth V4.2 verbunden werden. Die kleine Box misst 100 x 100 x 85 mm, wiegt lediglich 250 Gramm und integriert sich in schlichter weißer Eleganz in jedes Interieur. Dabei benötigt der Speaker keine Standfläche, denn dank Steckdosen-Plug wird er einfach in die Stromquelle gesteckt, so dass auch keine lästigen Kabel im Weg sind.

 

Der smarte WLAN-Lautsprecher von Blaupunkt „PVA 100“ ist vom 31. August bis zum 5. September 2018 erstmalig auf der IFA in Halle 7.2b, Stand 207, zu sehen und kommt Ende September zu einer unverbindlichen Preisempfehlung von 139 Euro auf den Markt.
